Riverside - Singapore
As rivers go, Singapore River is really quite small - for the most part less than a kilometre wide, it is nonetheless quite important historically as this is the waterway Sir Stamford Raffles sailed when he first came to Singapore.
As is to be expected, the river was once important to trade and there are a good many warehouses along the banks to prove it. Many of these warehouses have been turned into trendy shops and restaurants (i.e. Clark Quay) along with more and more development, both commercial and residential, aimed at taking advantage of the river's natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
